Short-term rental profit: quick answers
How do you calculate short-term rental profit?
Nights booked times the nightly rate, plus the cleaning fees guests pay, is what the listing takes in. Take off the platform's fee on that total, what each cleaning costs you, the software, and your fixed costs such as mortgage or rent, utilities, insurance and supplies. Taxes collected from guests pass through and are left out.
What is a good occupancy rate for an Airbnb?
It depends on the market, so the calculator shows the occupancy at which your listing breaks even at your price and costs. At the example's numbers that is 40% of nights.
What fee does Airbnb take from hosts?
15.5% on the single fee, which Airbnb is moving every home host to, charged on the nightly rate and the host's fees such as cleaning. Hosts on the old split fee paid 3%. The Airbnb host fee calculator has the detail.
What does Vrbo take?
